About Us

The purpose of Volunteer Task Force is to ensure people of limited financial, social and physical capacity will be able to live with safety, amenity and comfort in surroundings of their choosing.

Volunteer Task Force is a not for profit community service provider.

We have been operating since 1970.

We started as a purely voluntary organisation thanks to the vision of the founders Drs Sandra and John Penrose who adopted the idea of helping those in need of a helping hand in the community from a similar UK based organisation when they spent some time in England.

The organisation has grown from strength to strength, now boasting 4 locations across the Perth metro area, approximately 60 staff and 569 volunteers last financial year. Last year alone we provided services to over 5500 clients in the Perth metro area. We aim to work with our clients and help build independence. We work towards the model of wellness and to empower our clients to live more independently in a sustainable fashion.

Our services are: gardening, home maintenance, domestic assistance, Community Connect programs (social support), meals on wheels and transport.

Our funding comes primarily from Home and Community Care (HACC), a Government funding stream from the Health Department. The criteria for our clients is as follows: clients need to be on a pension or have a similar low income with an ongoing medical condition or disability or frailty associated with age.
